Rethinking Plastics: Circular economy solutions to marine litter
SAN has partnered with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Thailand on the Circular Economy Solutions to Marine Litter project in eight villages in the Koh Libong sub-district, Kantang district and Trang province. This project is a pilot project to promote a circular economy model at the local level. It aims to improve waste management formats and policies by working with all local stakeholders.
- To promote the participation of all stakeholders in order to improve local waste management policies in the area by developing an action plan on waste management at the community level, management plans and policies at the district level and promoting regional cooperation between private sectors and other government agencies in the area
- To develop and demonstrate a circular economy model at the local level specifically on sustainable plastic management and other locally recycled materials
- To develop a responsible and sustainable tourism business model and waste management system that protects people and nature.
